In Bryan's own words: "Freedom Series is a way of performing that moves me very deeply unlike any other way of performing has. I've been very grateful to perform in many genres but I've always been looking for a way of bringing it all together. There's so much spectacle and so much technology and so much production involved in any kind of commercial venture musically, and that's wonderful, but what really moves me is to go to the other side. I like it when the audience is actually watching me create something spontaneously that I've never performed before.

Freedom Series blends my passion for improvisation with my passion for exploring life. Basically I bring everything I have to the moment of performance. You never know what's going to happen in one of these Freedom Series concerts. I like to talk about things that mystify me, that I'm inspired by - like consciousness. I like to talk about awareness. I like to talk about being present. With Freedom Series, when you come to a concert, since you don't know what's going to happen, and since I don't know what's going to happen, sensitivities are more animated, you're more alert.

What I would like people to take from these concerts is that kind of alertness and that kind of awareness, so that when you walk out of those doors, life looks different than when you walked in those doors. And hopefully you can import some of that energy into the things that bring you joy and bring you passion."
